AASHTO presents 3 design methods for geosynthetic MSE structures – Simplified, Limit Equilibrium and Stiffness. For a given project, these methods can produce designs having different reinforcement lengths and/or densities. The methods also vary in their computational complexity, their degree of conservatism, and their years of usage experience. In this session, speakers from design consultants and MSE suppliers will share, and will illustrate with project examples, their experiences with each method and the methods’ respective benefits and limitations.
