Start planning now for your visit to Portland and have your visa well in advance of your travel. These steps will help you plan ahead:

1. Review your visa status; find out if you need a U.S. visa or a renewal. The photograph format required for the nonimmigrant visa has changed. This format is similar to that required for U.S. passport processing.

2. Review the visa wait times for interview appointments and visa processing information at each embassy and consular section worldwide.

3. Visit the embassy or consular section website where you will apply for your visa to find out how to schedule an interview appointment, pay fees and any other instructions. An interview at the embassy or consulate is required for most visa applicants. Expect a quick fingerprint scan as part of the visa interview. You will be informed if additional screening is required.

Visa letter of invitation

Visitors will require a letter of invitation from Geosynthetics 2015 organizers to support your visa application. Registration is required prior to visa letter creation.

You will be required to fill out your full name as it appears on your passport, company name, title, complete company mailing address, phone, fax and email address. Details must also include passport number and date of birth. You will need to submit one request per person.

You will receive a confirmation via email when your submission is received, and we will send a PDF of the letter to you via email. If you require a hard copy of the letter, please provide a Federal Express or UPS account number to cover the cost of shipping. We are not able to contact individual embassies in support of any individual trying to obtain a visa.
